August 16th 2011

In a couple weeks school starts. I am taking two classes. English and Spanish. I'm hoping that all will go well with school and I pass both my classes with flying colors. I got all my books I hope. Probably cost me $150 all together which isn't bad at all. Got them all used and can resell them back to the websites when I'm done. I'm a little worried that Spanish will be hard, but im sure ill be fine.

Next week is the annual Field Camping Trip. I'm so excited! In need of another vacation now. We are heading up by Sleeping Bear Dunes again. Should be a great time. Going for four days, along with going kayaking and going up to Traverse City. So excited for the food too. Will be the best I've eaten in a long time.

September is the Buddy Walk in Columbus Ohio. I will be returning this year and also bringing Brandon along with me, if he doesnt have to work that is. It's a very rewarding experience and I always love to see my cousins as well.

That's it for now. Gotta get back to work.

Oh My

It's been over a month since I've updated this thing. Guess I've been so busy, and it would help if I had the internet at home also.

So we moved into our house on the 14th of November. Started moving stuff on the 13th, and all the big stuff the next day. By four-o-clock on Sunday we had most of the things in our house besides, the couches, tv, bed, etc. They were to heavy for me to help with. I also had to drive four hours past Chicago for work, so I needed to leave. Once I was all packed (funny since we moved) I made that long haul to Vernon Hills, Il. Made it just fine, had a five hour energy drink that got me all the way there. About 10:30 Brandon calls and says that we got robbed. Asked him if he was joking, and he said no. Someone kicked down the back door when Brandon was at the store. Took some money, his computer monitor, and some movies. Being stuck in an unfamiliar place and that happens, I wanted to go home. But I stayed and survived the week of strenious mindblowing work.

Got back on Friday the 19th around 10pm and my cars breaks weren't good. Turned out that I had a leaking line. So that got fixed on Saturday. Felt really good to be home, but was a little freaked out since I wasn't used to the noises of the house. Still not really used to them, now that I think of it. We're pretty much settled in now, and loving every minute of it.

Thanksgiving was really good. Brandon and I made two trips, one to my parents house and one to his. I made a Banana Split dessert that Grandma Gabrick used to make. Was a little runny because of the pineapple juice, but otherwise tasted good! I also made a Carrot Cake to take to Brandons family's house. That turned out really good also! I can cook really well, I just never do. Brandon has been impressed, I made a broccoli casserole and carmel apple Jello stuff the other night. He complimented me greatly. He couldn't believe that after two years of us dating I never cooked. He thought I didn't know how. Haha! Showed him huh?

Right now, I've fallen ill. With this weather how can everyone not be sick? First it's snowing then it warms up and it's raining. I feel a little better today, which is good, cause I got sent home yesterday. I have to push through my day and then I'll get to rest after that. Might leave earlier because I have a headache, a small sore throat, but I'm very weak still. I slept all day yesterday, and when I couldn't sleep no more, I tried. Slept through the night, which is awesome because I've been waking up a couple times a night. (Sound like a baby now)

I think that's enough for me right now. Nothing really spectacular is happening, so until next time.

The Middle of the Week

Hump Day! Means that the week is half over and I'm that much closer to not having to work. These days are getting busy, and work is going good. It's not hard, but it is life-sucking. Full-time takes so much out of me, because not only am I working 40 hours, but I go over that due to other things. But I'm trying not to complain, because that would just get me demoted, and I don't want that to happen, since I love it so much! It's not challenging, just a lot of stuff.

So I'm hoping to hear back about the house sometime this week, and then we can have a final look through on Sunday or Monday, and then go from there. I'm sure we need to sign some things, and all that good stuff. We were told yesterday to not buy any pots and pans or a microwave. So we might be getting those as a housewarming gift. It's awesome, and I appreciate that too. It'll help us along, and make things less stressfull. Like spending a ton of money on stuff. I guess if we get a microwave, we'll have all our essentials for a little bit at least.

I'm gonna rant here for a little bit. So I prank called someone recently and they were furious about it. Telling me I'm a jerk, when they were just really angry and over reacting. Well to that person, I don't need you and if you're gonna let a little thing like that get in the way of our friendship, then goodbye.

That's it for now, Talk to you soon!

November 14th

Our move in date! I'm so excited for this day to come, so I have to start packing all the stuff I have at my mom's house to bring over to the house. We are going to go back and look at the house when it's all finished. They are putting a new sink, shower, and toilet in the bathroom, so we got a remodeled bathroom! It's exciting, so I got to watch what I'm spending for the next month, and then we'll be all set. It's going to be strange though, because I'm not used to or really like being in a house at night alone. So it'll take me some time, but I'll be okay. Maybe we'll get some cats right away, then I won't be so lonely. I'll be okay though.

Well that's it for now! I'll start posting pics when I get my computer's wireless running and when we get it for the house! I also have no camera, so it's hard to get pictures.

Exciting News!

It's official! Me and Brandon are getting a house. Renting at least. It's about fifteen minutes away from where I live now, and about 10 minutes from work! That's a plus, since I'm sick of driving all that way, but five minutes is five minutes!

It's a one story, two bedroom, one bath house. Finished basement also! Decent living room and kitchen. Also a biggish back yard, which I love! It's a tan exterior and a one car stall garage. It needed a new stove, water heater, furnace (?), and shower. The water heater I believe is going to be done on Thursday and Jim (Our soon-to-be landlord) said he'd call and talk about moving dates. Now we said that we are in no rush to move in, but I think pretty much as soon as we are able to, we are going to. I don't know for sure, since I haven't talked to him about it yet. Haha. I'm going to start packing stuff up at my mom's house, and try and see if I can get one of the dressers in my room. So, hopefully things will go smoothly (had to call and ask about my bad credit), and I don't see why they wouldn't.

Well that's all for now! Keep ya guys posted!

Work is my life.

Hello Everyone!!! It's been awhile, but I've been really busy. Last week I went to Ohio for the Buddy Walk. It was really fun and I'm glad I made it. Driving down we took a wrong turn so we kind of got lost. But we made it, all in one peice. Visited with family and I woke up sick on Friday! Boo. I really enjoyed seeing my cousins. The Buddy Walk was extremely fun. Good crowds all around us. Everyone was there supporting children with Down Syndrome. Our little Leah is so cute. She'll never go unloved when she's in our family.

I also made my decision to go into Hotel Management as a career. I'm going back to school in the Winter to start learning more about it. I'm not sure if I want to stay at Extended Stay for the rest of my life, but I would like to stay around to try and be promoted to GM. I'm thinking that being a AGM will get me through some of my schooling, at least at GRCC. I need to talk to a counselor as soon as possible to see what the curriculum is going to be. I'm going back to take my business english class, and then I'm not sure after that. Since I'm working here, I only can take night classes. Maybe when next fall comes around, I'll have a set schedule to where I can go during the day one day. Since I was out of school for awhile, I only want to start off slow, because working full time and going to school full time is a handful. And I'm not sure if I'll be able to go back full time eventually.

Brandon and I are waiting on hearing about a house. It's going to be $675 a month for I believe two bedrooms one bath, main floor and basement. Don't know to much about it just yet, but it looks hopeful. I have to go now, but I'll see everyone later!

Ahh, a new post!

So I'm trying to keep up with this, but it seems like my posts are getting farther and farther away from each other.

Some non-work-related stuff. I didn't have to go to court today, the guy plead guilty. So I was pretty satisfied for that. Not sure if I said anything, but he drunk drove his truck into a bulldozer. He was fighting it for months and finally the day before his trial he admitted to being guilty. He finally figured out that once it went to court he would be found guilty, since Brandon and I were the only witnesses and our stories were more believable. I'm also glad cause, I didn't have to see Andrea, which I figured that she would be there. Brandon asked me the other day if I would want to live in an apartment or a house. We don't need a lot of space if it's just us, so I mentioned an apartment. But then talked about how some places wouldn't let us have a dog (want a huskee). He knows a couple that rents out houses and said that he would talk to them on Thursday to see availability. We went by there the other day, and there's a one floor house and a two story house. The one story we think would be just fine. Enough room for the both of us, without a ton of extra space we don't need. The only downfall is that there isn't a back yard. I love my back yards, but I guess later on down the road we can move into a place that has a decent back yard. It has a small deck though! So small and petite, just what we need right now. So when he asks he'll know about when it will be available, and we'll go from there. Next Thursday, my family and I are leaving for Ohio! I'm so excited. It's been a long time since I've gotten to go down to Ohio, and I've never walked in the Buddy Walk. So this year will be a treat. I missed a few cousins from Ohio when everyone came up, so now they don't have a choice whether or not to see me. ;-) Down side is I'm driving all the way down there! It's gonna be a long trip, so I'll need good sleep.

Now for some work related stuff... Been working my butt off for the past 5 days. Although I did have the weekend off. Our main computer crashed on Thursday, so we were down to one computer, which made everything slow. It took hours to get things done that takes five minutes to do. It was that bad. So all weekend it took forever for everything to get done, a lot of errors. And a lot of stress. Then we got a new computer Monday. Which is awesome, because I've wanted a brand new computer since I started working here! So it took a couple days, but everything seems to be fixed now. Since I didn't have court I was going to work from 10:36 AM- 6:00 PM. 10:36, weird time to be scheduled in. Anyways, I stayed up a little later since I didn't have to be in till then. Got a call probably quarter to 8. Tom is at work, and his wife just got into an accident. So he was like can you come in. I know it's a long day. I told him that I would, he said I'll tell Ecco that I'll be there in a half hour. So not only does it sometimes take a half hour to get to work, I'm still in my pjs. So I rush into my clothes and rush on in to work. She ended up having a sprained ankle and red bumps from the airbag. So that was good. Now I either have the entire day off on Thursday or just coming in at noon. He probably will give it to me off, since I took call this weekend, since he'll have it the next week.

I wanna say that this is it for that. Just waiting for 6 to roll around. And then I'll be off for the night. YaY!

A Day in the Life of a Workaholic

I feel like one, I'm always here. Work work work, that's all. Well at least I get paid good for it, and with our declining economy, it's pretty good. Almost through the hiring process and I believe we have our two new desk people. Which the sooner we get them hired and trained, the sooner I can work only mornings! I've been looking foreward to a set schedule for so long now. Occasional nights would be fine, otherwise, it screws with me. Tomorrow I work till 11 then I open the next morning. It's not bad, but it means that when I get out of work then gotta go straight to bed and get up early the next day. Or I prolly won't be tired enough to go to sleep, then only have 3-4 hours of sleep. Done it before, it's just 10 times more tiring because I have a lot more to do.

So went shopping for some clothes Sunday, looking pretty snazy! Brandon is also managing every Monday and Tuesday at his job now. Pretty soon, he'll be managing and serving and never home! Lol. It's okay though, we can make it. It seems like everything is getting in line as far as money and working on things. Saving money is my ultimate goal now, and hopefully that means I can get a new car sooner! So, hopefully this all works out.

A week from now is my subpeona. Can't wait for that, because it could go on for days. Woo. All I need is to lose time learning things at work, because some jerk doesn't want to go to jail. Do one good deed and it catches up with ya. The end of the month is also coming up fairly quickly. Going down to Ohio! Need this small vacation so bad. Away from work is going to be the best. I'm either going to get some sleeping pills for the ride there and back or just hope that the car-sick medicine will work. It seems to me when I last took those, they didn't work. But then again sleeping pills will make me groggy when I wake up. But if it's only for the long car ride, should be okay.

And that takes me to having nothing else to talk about. Thank goodness my life is sooo interesting!

TGIF!

Friday couldn't come any sooner. It's been an exahusting week for me. For some reason work just wore me out. I'm off this weekend as far as having to go in, but I'm on call for the next three days. I only have an hour and a half left of today, and I get to go home!

First day working alone went really good. I spent most of my day with Tiffany and doing all my stuff. I didn't really take a lunch break, but it's ok. I don't need to eat all the time. Haha! I'll get something when I get out. Just don't know what... Hmm... I just got my quizes for work, so I should get going.

Seeing Resident Evil on Sunday! It's gonna be awesome!

Laters! :)

Today's just a day, Tomorrow... An Experience.

I'm working right now, just got done taking my Workplace Violence class, and boy was that awesome. It kind of scared me at first with all the gun and shootings talk, but was pretty easy. Still trying to get caught up but it's really hard to when things aren't working correctly. But nonetheless I'm getting myself caught up. Today is just a day, but tomorrow, a different story.

It's my first day alone as manager, and it's kinda nerve racking. I know what I need to do, and I have the support from Tom still, but... It's an experience. I'm also on call all weekend, so hopefully I won't get called or if I do, I won't have to go up to the hotel. That would blow! Otherwise things are looking good.

I'm sure there's more to report, but who wants to talk about work, and nothing that interesting came up yet. So I'll leave ya to yourselves.

Wednesday, Already?

Wow how time flies! It's already the middle of the week and it's closing down fast. Work has been going great. We are still trying to find someone to hire and applications are rolling in. Hopefully we'll find someone to actually show up to their interview. (We had two interviews not show up!) There's a homeschool thing that I have to do that corporate sets up for us. I've done 3 in the past two weeks, woulda done 4, but one didn't work. I'll be doing a lot of those, just to catch up with everyone else. I also got my benifits packet and am going to apply for medical and dental. Enough about work!

Saw Machete on Monday. It was awesome. I expect nothing less from the Grindhouse-esque type of movie. The movie was made from a fake trailer in between the movies Death Proof and Planet Terror. They made it into a real movie and it was spectacular. Although I am a little squimish about blood and stuff like that. The effects and fight scenes were good, and the story was pretty good too. It had a lot of people in it also. Robert Deniro, Lindsey Lohan, Michelle Rodriquez, Steven Segal, and many more. Definitely a second watch in theaters for me.

Also, I can't wait for the new Harry Potter movie to come out. Sometime in November it will hit theaters and then the second part will be coming out next July. This is the finale and it's gonna be epic!

I thought that I would have to miss out on the buddy walk this year due to working on a certain date, but I don't have to, so I'm coming down! Look out Buddy Walk 2010, here I come! I'm still really excited.

I guess that's really it for now. Things are going well with me and Brandon. Until next time,

Live Long and Prosper.

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday

My first week is over and on to the new week. It's starting off great!

Tom said that he was very impressed with what I was capable of learning in a week. So that's a plus, and very nice. Like I said, it's a lot better working as a manager because there's so much to do. Although my nights are boring still, but soon enough I'll be off of them. I got kinda screwed tonight because some people thinks its good to call off in a text, at 7:30am. No call, nothing. So now I'm here till 11 instead of 9. My plans are none now, and no one can cover 6-11. Understanding that this is my job, I'm just angry that was the way she called off. I woulda worked until 6 today, and it woulda been fine.

Enough on ranting about my job.

Movies I've Seen Recently! I saw The Expendables. It was really good. A definite dude movie, but the action is incredible. So much blood and cool ways to be killed. Also saw Inception, which was amazing. The concept of it was origional in it's own way, and leaves it open for interpretation. Also saw Scott Pilgram vs. The World. It was decent. I'm not a big fan of Michael Cera so it took a little bit of the movie away from me. Otherwise, the action and videogame esque part of it was good. I felt like all the actors and actresses were good in it (besides Mr. Cera). I think that is all the movies I've seen recently. I believe we are going to see Machete tomorrow, so that'll be fun.

I guess that's it for now. Until then, Adios!

september 2nd

I'm going to try really hard to keep a blog going. It's failed me in the past, but the way technology is today, it'll be easier. Or at least that's what i think.

I'm halfway through my first week of training, and so far I really enjoy it. I feel like it's the right fit, just because i'm not bored doing my job. It's a challenge, but not a big one. Nothing i cant handle anyway. I've got my schedule until October 15th, so my life is planned until then.

September 21st I got subpoenaed to court. Brandon and I witnessed an accident and the guy is fighting it. So, could be just for that day or multiple days. Which sucks, because I want to know how much time I need off. I'm also hoping that it doesnt last till the 30th, because that's when i'm leaving for Ohio.

It's my first year doing the buddy walk, and I'm excited. With not having Brandi I don't have to watch her and the house. So my last vacation at least till next year. Can't wait to see all my cousins that couldn't come up this past month.

Well I guess that's all for now!

Wednesday, September 1, 2010

It's been a great month.

This past month and I guess today also has really been awesome. Not only did I get promoted as Assistant General Manager at the hotel, Brandon also became a manager on the second floor of The B.O.B. Everything in life seems to be in order, or at least starting. Both of our jobs recognize how hard we work and how well we do it. It's exciting! So Congrats Brandon!

Starting New

So starting Monday, August 30th I'll be in training for the Assistant General Manager position at Extended Stay of America. Woo! Exciting!

Wow...

I guess I should keep everyone updated huh? That would be great.

This summer I went camping twice. Not that interesting I know, but it was fun for me. The first time I went camping it was for 6 days? So a whole entire week. Went to Grand Haven like usual with Teri, Amy, Roger, Angel, and Mary. Ended up going to the beach a bunch of times, so I got my basis for a tan. It was awesome, except for when we went swimming in a red flag. That was interesting. I'm not a very good swimmer, but Matt was there to help me back in. lol. Did I mention I caught a frog?

Then my birthday came. Brandon sent me on a shopping spree that was filled with books, clothes, and a series on DVD. (I won't tell you what, because then everyone will know I'm truly a geek at heart.) So that was great and fun! The day after my birthday I went camping with Brandon's family. It was so much fun. Except for the huge spiders! (No pics, was to damn scared of them) We ended up sleeping in the van our last night there because the tent zipper broke and I didn't want to sleep with the spiders.... Eww. Well we ended up swimming almost everyday, went tubing where I found some cool shells. We also went and climbed Sleeping Bear dunes. It only took us a half hour to do it. If we go next year, I'll be ready for it! Oh did I mention? We caught a snake! I was the first one to hold it, besides Brandon's dad. Brandon took a good 10 minutes not wanting to hold it. He even told me that if I threw it at him, he'd break up with me... So I didn't. But he held it eventually...

Then after that, was me and Brandon's 1 year anniversary. We went to dinner and then saw the new Harry Potter movie. It was really awesome, and we had a great time.

So now that I've caught you up, look for part 2. This isn't all that's been going on, but I'm gonna be leaving work soon, so I got to scram!

Flying High in the Sky

That's right, I did it. I went skydiving. It was definitely awesome! Something that I want to do over and over again. To bad it's so expensive... Oh well. I got some pictures that I took, and then Brandon is going to take pics off of the video. So everyone can see me fly. It was a great experience. And for anyone wanting to do it, just do it. You won't regret it.

Ah, it's been awhile

I guess I should try and write some more often. Some stuff has happened since my last post.

First of all, I found a website to help me with my writing, so I'm still working hard on writing my book. http://chuckpalahniuk.net He is one of my favorite authors, and I was really excited to have found out that there is a place where I could get other authors to critique my work. And I get to see what everyone else is doing! :D It's been frustrating, but this will make my writing better.

Also, June 3rd, Shadow got put to sleep. She had a really bad seizure and something was found on her liver. So instead of having her suffer, my mom put her down. It's very sad and she will be missed.

Last but not least, I'm going skydiving tomorrow!!! I'm excited but scared!

Friday The 13th

Just a perfect time to release the photos! I made up four posters for the movie using photoshop. I enjoy photoshop so much. I should learn to do more stuff with it...
